Hey there! I’m Taylor Qualls, the founder of Forget Me Knots! I wanted to take the time to give a little background of our company and why it was started. I’m an avid traveler and absolutely love going to concerts. In recent years, I have had a bit of an issue with my phone being stolen. It happening once is crazy, but it happening TWICE within the matter of a few months is a bit excessive. I have always done my best to be aware of my surroundings and keep track of all my personal belongings when traveling, but it’s safe to say these people apparently knew what they were doing.
How It Started
Right after turning 21, I decided to spend the night out on Broadway in Nashville, which will probably be a one night experience regardless. I was having a great time with my friends – we even got VIP access because of a few connections, so obviously it was a blast. Once we left that section of the bar, my phone was not in my purse.
Something that blows my mind to this day is that my passport was also in my purse but THAT was still there. The worst part was probably the fact that I was able to track exactly where the phone was at, but there was nothing I could do to get it back no matter how hard I tried. That wasn’t a great feeling! About 3 months later, BAM same thing. This time, the wallet and phone disappeared. It was a very humbling experience to say the very least.

The crime scene in question…
As you probably know, smartphones are not necessarily affordable items and it is incredibly inconvenient to replace one – especially in a foreign country. I am hardly ever on my phone, so it usually stays in my purse for the majority of the time I am out. This is how it gets taken unfortunately, SO I wanted to find a solution to what oddly kept taking place. This eventually led to our current products!
How It’s Going
I started out with a retractable ID wire and attached it to my phone case. The other side was clipped to my purse so that it stayed attached at all times. The problem is, it wouldn’t stay attached and the wire had too much resistance. Eventually, I just tied a small rope to the handle of my bag and my phone case. This is actually where our company’s name originated!
From there, I continued trying to come up with the best solution because I couldn’t seem to find quite the right product to fix what I was dealing with. It finally reached the point where I created the prototype of our current product, and it was a hit! After a little bit of research, I actually found that there are so many other individuals out there that have dealt with the same problem! This is why we started Forget Me Knots, because that feeling of defeat is not something anyone should have to deal with!
